160,000 Volunteers to be recruited for Universiade 2011 Shenzhen
The interview for backbone volunteers of Shenzhen 26th summer Universiade started on March 14. According to the Executive Board of the Universiade, Shenzhen will recruit 160,000 Volunteers for the Universiade 2011 which is a pageant with the most volunteers and biggest service scale in the history.
According to the report, the volunteers recruited for the Universiade Shenzhen are classified into three types:
The first is game volunteer that is planned to recruit 20,000 persons. Game volunteers will provide volunteered services for the sport programs set in the Universiade and participate in the services such as operation of the competition venues, shows of physical culture, medical treatment, television broadcast, and press release etc., of which, the volunteers will also participate in the daily work and special activities during the preparation of the Universiade for providing volunteered services for the Executive Board. After professional trainings and strict examinations, the backbone volunteers will participate in the work of organizing and assisting to manage the game volunteer teams.
The second is city volunteer that is planned to recruit 40,000 persons. They will provide services including information consultation, path showing, medical t treatment, emergency treatment, translation etc. outside the competition venues and at key areas in the city.
The third is social volunteer that is planned to recruit 10,000 persons. They will mainly carried out services in the communities in Shenzhen for creating the atmosphere of the Universiade, maintaining social order and promoting civilized life style.
It’s said there are 1800 persons that have passed the preliminary exam, of which 800 recently have passed the text exam on line and come to next round. 400 persons will be finally selected as backbone volunteers for the 26th summer Universiade.
