Shenzhen Shopping Festival to be open on May 1st

Shopping festival, the Shenzhen Foreign Trade Exhibition will be held on May 1ST to 5th in the convention center, while Shenzhen Shopping Festival will be open on May 1st to 8th at the same time at each Commercial Street and large marketplace in the city. As one of the new measures of the municipal government for dealing with the international financial crisis and increasing the domestic demands, the eligible foreign trade corporations of Guangdong, Shenzhen and Hongkong with excellent independent brands will be provided with favorable policies of taking part in the exhibition free of charge.

Currently, the global financial crisis is still spreading and the domestic consuming confidence has not recovered, as one of the cities highly depending on foreign trade, Shenzhen is now suffering the biggest challenges in the history at foreign trade and domestic demands. Chen Yingchun, Member of Standing Community, Mayor of the city pointed out at the conference, orders of part of the foreign trade companies were suddenly reduced and consumers are lack of confidence to the market. This activity held this time is to help the Guangdong, Shenzhen and Hongkong companies to cooperate fully with international and domestic distribution companies for exploiting the international market especially stimulating the consumption and pulling the domestic demand. He said this activity will also provide an opportunity for the businessmen for inspecting the foreign trade merchandizes to see whether they are suitable for domestic distribution, further promoting the type transferring and optimization of our city’s product structure.

The organizer said on the conference that exhibition soliciting work be started from now on and now they are negotiating with international and domestic relevant organizations for organizing the buyers to participate in the exhibition.
