Acting Mayor of Shenzhen in Belgrade
Shenzhen will form a team to participate the Closing Ceremony of the 25th Universiade in Belgrade on July 12th, where the Acting Mayor of Shenzhen Wang Rong will take over the Universiade flag from the Chairman of International University Sports Federation, making the Universiade come into “Shenzhen time”.
The Chief of the Executive Board of the 26th Universiade, Liang Daoxing dislosed that at the night of taking over the flag, there would be a 20 minutes performance after the Acting Mayor of Shenzhen, Wang Rong addressing.
According to the introduction, Shenzhen delegation, during the stay in Belgrade, will conduct an overall survey on the construction of the gymnasiums and stadiums in Belgrade, organization of the competition, Universiade Village, television relay, security guarding etc., for making enough preparation for the 26th Universiade. At the same time, Shenzhen delegation will also hand in the fifth progress report and keynote speech of Shenzhen Universiade, have a discussion with the Belgrade Organizing Committee, attend the academic conference of FISU, and held the propaganda activity of Shenzhen for showing the image of Shenzhen as a city of youth and design.
The preparation work of 2011 Shenzhen Universiade by now has been going well. 63 stadiums and gymnasiums of the competitions and trainings have been new started and reconstructed. The 2011 Shenzhen Universiade plans to have 24 big events and 302 small events, which will be the most in the history of Universiade.
