Guaranteeing Economic Growth, Priority of Shenzhen

Member of Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial Committee, Deputy Party Secretary of Shenzhen and Acting Mayor, Wang Rong was on a run to the six districts in the city on June 19th and made investigation on the work of “guaranteeing economic growth”.

“I am fully confident about the future development of Shenzhen”

From 8:30 am to 7:00 pm, Acting Mayor of Shenzhen Wang Rong visited 6 districts in Shenzhen within this short day and went deep into the enterprises for more information. He went back to the Civil Center in the evening for hearing the report of the work for guaranteeing economic growth and at the same time had discussions with District Chiefs and Secretaries of each district and principals of the departments of Development and Reform Commission, Trade and Industry Bureau, Statistics Bureau etc.

High and new technology industry was one of the pillar industries of Shenzhen, of which Tecent was specially a remarkable one who had realized revenue of 250 million Yuan and profit of 105 million Yuan. “We can find the reasons that Shenzhen keeps a stable increase in the crisis from Tecent. Having the well developed enterprises with strong risk-resisting ability as support, such as Tecent, Shenzhen then can build up the solid foundation for the city to resist the crisis,” said Wang Rong.

“Seeing such young enterprisers, such young enterprises and such young industries, I am fully confidant about the future development of Shenzhen,” Wang said to his entourages.

“The position can only be maintained by accomplishment in the economic crisis”

To save time and increase efficiency, Secretaries and Chiefs of each district all report in turn the economic and social development situation and each measure and achievement of the work of guaranteeing economic increase as well as the problems that need the government to resolve to Wang Rong on the car heading to each district.

“Guaranteeing the economic growth is the priority of Shenzhen now.” Wang Rong pointed, Shenzhen’s overall economic situation was good and economic and social development was stable, therefore, we have enough confidence to resist the economic crisis and accomplish this year’s task of guaranteeing increase. “We can only maintain our position by accomplishment in the economic crisis. Judging the working state and working achievement of a district and a department at present is to see how the task of guaranteeing increase being accomplished, how the measures being implemented and how the achievements being presented.”

“To guarantee the increase, we should actively seek for new projects and new industry growth points for further stimulating economic growth,” Wang Rong said, “enterprises need to be innovated and the government level should also be innovated.” Wang emphasized at last that the innovative city could not simply be considered as innovation in technology field, and the effect that government-level innovation brought to the city could be even greater than the single technology innovation.
