Shenzhen’s Kindergarten buses to be equipped with GPS

Shenzhen will carry out an all-around examination of the potential safety hazard on the school buses and rooms of all kindergartens in Shenzhen during the summer holiday. To raise the standard of the school buses of kindergartens on road, Shenzhen requires all the school buses to be equipped with GPS, according to the Working Conference of Shenzhen Kindergartens Safety Management.

Shenzhen now has 900 kindergartens and 200,000 children, of which 93% are private kindergartens. Li Yizhen, Member of Shenzhen Party Committee, Secretary of Education Working Committee of Party Committee said on the meeting that education management department should unite fire department and other relevant departments to carry out an all-around examination of potential safety hazard on the school buses and classrooms of all kindergartens in Shenzhen during the summer holiday. “Considering the successive bus blazes in Shenzhen and Chengdu, school buses’ safety should not be neglected. Due to the young age, it’s impossible for the children to break glasses and get themselves out. Therefore, guaranteeing the safety of the school buses is the most important thing that we should do,” she said.

Chief of Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Education, Zhang Baoquan said as carrying out examination of potential safety hazard, the on-road standard of school buses of kindergartens should also be improved and the department decided to equip GPS on all the school buses of kindergartens for strengthening the management of those buses.
