362kg drugs burned in Shenzhen
362kg drugs and 43094 grain of drugs and mental drugs were burned in Shenzhen on June 26th, International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which was the largest drug burning activity that Shenzhen Customs held in recent years.
According to the introduction, more than ten kinds of drugs were destroyed in this activity, including ketamine, heroin, cocaine, ice etc, totaling 362 kg as well as the dancing outreach, diazepam tablets, estazolam and other drugs and mental medicines totaling of 43094 grains. The anti-smuggling police of the Customs disclosed the market value of those drugs destroyed was about 120 million Yuan.
Journalist on site viewed, the activity also exhibit the samples of the drugs, drug making tools, drug paraphernalia and so on confiscated by the Customs in recent years. And the fasteners, bags, shoes, exquisite oil paintings and other tools for hiding drugs showed on this exhibition also gave the citizens a vivid lesion of “anti-drug”.
Relevant principal said, to crack down drug smuggling, Shenzhen Customs set a foothold on site monitoring and strengthen risk analyzing and information management basing on three links of “block up import, intercept export and cut down the channels”. Shenzhen Customs also strictly striking the drug smuggling in the cooperation frame of Guangdong and Hong Kong.
According to the statistics, from 2003 to June 2009, Shenzhen Customs had cracked down 298 drugs smuggling related cases and 2 precursor chemical cases and had confiscated heroin, ketamine, marijuana, cocaine, ice and other drugs totaling 818.18 kg and precursor chemicals totaling 9882 kg. Some large drug smuggling related cases with the name of “Tsunami”, “sheath of sting”, “Shifeng” etc. have been cracked down.
