Shenzhen: 4.48 billion, 23 transformer substations
As one of the biggest economic zones in Shenzhen, Baoan district has been on the shortage of power supply. Since the power shortage restricts the development of economy, Baoan district decides to accelerate the construction of the electric network and will make an investment of total 4.48 billion Yuan, of which 2.08 billion Yuan is planned to be used in the newly started 15 transmission and distribution projects this year, which will increase the transformer capacity to 4.192 million kilowatts, and 2.4 billion Yuan will be used in the construction and reconstruction of the newly added network projects. The construction of the power supply projects will eliminate effectively the phenomenon of “stuck throat”, optimizing the electric power network structure and adding wings for increasing the economic growth.
According to the introduction, to relieve the situation of power shortage, Baoan district had started 12 transformer substations, put into production of 3 transformer substations, newly added transformer capacity of 858000 kilowatts and newly constructed lines above 110 kilowatts of 105 kilometers since last year. By the end of last year, Baoan district had had 46 transformer substations and total capacity of transformation of 13.941 kilowatts, which basically resolved the problem of power shortage in the total district.
To further optimize the power supply and adapt to the demands of future development, the governments at municipal and provincial level make plans that they would, during 2009 and 2010, construct 23 transformer substations, and by now, 15 had been started.
