Slogan Sought for Universiade 2011 Volunteers

On 23 July 2009, Universiade 2011 Shenzhen Executive Board and Shenzhen Municipal Youth League Committee jointly held a press conference and announced to solicit slogans for the volunteers of Shenzhen Universiade from all around the world. The Host required that, the works should fully reflect the idea of Shenzhen Universiade: Reform and Openness, Youth and Fashion, Innovation, and Passion; and the spirit of the volunteers: Involvement, Cooperation, Dedication, and Progress.

It is reported that the soliciting of slogans of the Universiade volunteers will be started from July 23 and ended by October 11. The host hopes to get a slogan which is simple, easy to remember, and close to the cultural connotation of the volunteers, so that it can be spread among volunteers as well as the citizens. Meanwhile, the slogan should also fully embody the concept of the Shenzhen Universiade by highlighting the main theme of Youth City, Harmonious Event.

Individuals or organizations from around the world are welcome to submit their works either through Internet or by mail. Twenty slogans in Chinese or English will be shortlisted, and winning slogans will be chosen through an online vote.

The final results will be announced Dec. 5, International Volunteers Day.
