High-speed wireless network covers the venue of Shenzhen Universiade

With 24 competition items, the most in the history, Shenzhen 2011 Universiade plans to recruit 160,000 volunteers.Relevant party anticipates that there will be 20,000 athletes, coaches and personnel joining in and about 800,000 spectators watching, which will make it the largest pageant with most people in the history of the Universiade.

China Telecom has formally become the sole global partner of Shenzhen 26th Summer Universiade on communication service and makes the service for the Universiade a key task in the future 5 years’ strategic cooperation in Shenzhen. Focusing on the theme of “scientific and digital Universiade” , Guangdong Telecom will increase investment in two years and develop and implement consummate resolutions to provide diversified comprehensive information service of fixed line communication, mobile communication, internet access, television signal transmission etc. on a all-round basis, helping Shenzhen 2011 Universiade become a Universiade with the highest level of digitization, networking and informationization and providing effective guarantee for the realization of the aim of holding a “wonderful, successful and influential” Universiade provided by Shenzhen Party Commission and Municipal Government.

China Telecom has set up a specialized institution to carefully plan and build relevant communication and information system as well as a series of supporting projects. Guangdong Telecom will actively put into practice of the demonstration project of the next generation internet service IPV6 of National Development and Reform Committee, the information network of which will cover 40 sport venues and stadiums and 27 training stadiums, and at the same time build the two large network platforms for the next generation metropolitan area network and IPV6 wireless network, as well as the seven application systems of wireless broadband video monitoring, FRID identification of the Universiade Village, mobile multimedia and multi-language information service, intellectual Universiade Village, shot and upload of the wireless broadband, living broadcast of high-definition sport events, official website of the Universiade etc., making the guests from all walks of life enjoy the most advanced information services.

The information system of the Universiade includes event results processing system, event monitoring system, data exchange system and official website etc., and the involving data center and application system construction will adopt Yun Service Technology, providing network service, calculation service, storage service and software development platform service etc. Guagndong Telecom will actively take part in the construction of public information platform of intellectual communication system of the Universiade on the basis of IPV6 for meeting the demands of the Universiade’s security, control and dispatch and high-effective communication information service and so on. Guagndong Telecom will also make full use of Tianyi 3G Mobile Network and 3G mobile phone for providing convenient digital meeting management, ticketing management and mobilized business services.

Guangdong Telecom will build large digital operation center providing guarantee for the information and communication service given to the Universiade, which will become one of the large digital operation center in China. At the same time, all the venues and stadiums will realize full covering of “Tianyi 3G+WAPI”. Guangdong Telecom plans to organize and implement the demonstration project of the independent innovation application of WAPI, gradually realizing high-speed wireless network covering of the whole city and promoting the application of WAPI and development of the industry, so as to actively push Shenzhen to build the “wireless city”.
