Shenzhen Airlines’s Taiwan Branch Opened

The Taipei Branch of Shenzhen Airlines opened yesterday and donated 10 million new Taiwan dollars to help rebuilt the scenic spot of Mt. Ali that had been hit heavily by the Typhoon Morakot. What made Taiwanese businessmen more delighted was that Shenzhen Airlines announced it would take the lead in presenting “year-round tickets” for customers.

It’s reported that, on July 29, Taiwan Investment Commission of Ministry of Economic Affairs approved the applications of seven mainland airlines, including Shenzhen Airlines, for establishing branches in Taiwan. After half a month’s preparation, handing in materials to the “Ministry of Economic Affairs”, “Civil Aviation Administration” and other relevant departments of Taiwan, Shenzhen Airlines had recently obtained all ratifications and had completed the supporting work of establishing marketing system, recruiting personnel and so on. The Branch was formally formed on August 19.

After Taiwan Branch opened, Shenzhen Airlines immediately exerted its characteristic of being good at innovation, announcing the promotion of a year round ticket priced at RMB17, 700 Yuan for the flights between Shenzhen and Taiwan for the whole year, which was unprecedented in the history of airlines.

According to the introduction of Shenzhen Airlines, the first batch of the “year-round tickets” was targeting at the members of Taiwan Merchant Association Shenzhen for the flights from Shenzhen to Taipei, which was applicable from September 2, 2009 to August 31, 2010. The eligible Taiwan businessmen could buy the tickets from each branch of Shenzhen Airlines in Taipei with their Taiwan Compatriot Travel Certificates.

According to the report, the beautiful scenic spot of Mt. Ali had been hit hard by the water problems caused by Typhoon “Morakot”. After the Taiwan Branch of Shenzhen Airlines opened, it immediately announced the donation of 10 million new Taiwan Dollars to help rebuild this area.

President of Shenzhen Airlines, Li Kun said, as the first batch of corporations establishing branches in Taiwan, Shenzhen Airlines deeply felt the responsibility of bridging the cross-strait relations. Chief of Taiwan Tourism Bureau Lai Sezhen representing Taiwan accepted the donation.
