Extending of Metro Line No.2 Approved
According to Shenzhen Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the National Development and Reform Commission has ratified the feasibility study report of the eastern extending section of Shenzhen Metro Line No.2 and agreed to the construction as per the planning approved.
Line No.2’s eastern extending section is the seventh urban rail traffic line that has been approved by the nation since 2006. By now, all lines of the second phase rail traffic projects that has to be completed by 2011 in Shenzhen, including the continuing project of Line No.1, preliminary project of Line No.2, eastern extending project of Line No. 2, preliminary project of Line No. 3, western extending project of Line No.3, continuing project of Line No.4 and the project of Line No.5 have all finished the national examination and approval procedures and all those lines are promoted rapidly. By then, Shenzhen will increase 155km rail traffic lines, which will greatly facilitate the travel of citizens.
According to the approval of National Development and Reform Commission, the length of the eastern extending section of Line No.2 is 20.65km, which are all under the ground. From World of the Window Station to Xinxiu Station, the section all together has 17 stations, of which 7 are transfer stations. The control center and vehicle depots are shared with the preliminary project and meanwhile one parking lot is set up at Houhai. The system of the project vehicles are the same with those in the preliminary project, adopting A type vehicles and 6 in one group.
According to the introduction, the eastern extending section project of Line No.2 has investment of 11.91 billion Yuan, of which 5.36 billion Yuan is for project capital funds, accounting for 45% of the total investment, undertaken by the Municipal Financial Department, and the 6.55 billion Yuan in addition to the capital funds will be solved by national bank loans. Relevant official of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission disclosed that the construction planning of the third phase project of railway traffic (2011-2020)in our city has been reported to the National Development and Reform Commission and each relevant departments have been working intensively for promoting each preparatory work.
