Henggang Section of Shenzhen Metro Line No.3 Electrified

On August 28, Henggang section of Shenzhen Metro Line No. 3 was electrified, which meant Line No. 3 had made full preparation for the coming of the first two metro vechicles in late September.
According to the introduction of relevant principal of the Metro Line No.3 Corporation, the electrifying of Henggang vehicle section means the section from Jianlong Transformer Substation of the Municipal Power Supply Bureau to Yinhai Main Transformer Substation of Metro Line No.3, and to the stations of Yinhai, Songbo, Tangkeng Liuyue of Metro Line No.3 and Henggang vehicle section. The electrifying of Henggang vehicle section can provide formal power for the entering warehouse and vehicle debugging of the first two metro vehicles. Meanwhile, the electrifying can also provide power and lighting systems for relevant vehicles and other electrical equipment systems on the vehicle section and the viaduct sections of Line No.3, improving the electricity utilizing environment and providing favorable conditions for the equipment installation and decoration project in process.
It’s said that, different from other previously constructed viaduct sections, Shenzhen Metro Line No.3 take the lead in adopting the mode of 1500V direct current and third rail power supply, which is to design the power supply lines on the edge of the rail and form the third rail. The adoption of this power supply mode can collect the back-up power distributed on different equipments and realize unified power supply, which not only saves the purchasing expenses and the used space of the back-up power, reducing waste and reducing the construction cost, but also reduces greatly the maintenance cost during the operation period.
