Installation of steel structure of Shenzhen Universiade’s swimming pool completed
Yesterday, the project of Shenzhen Universiade again sent good news. Through 120 days efforts, the steel structure installation of the swimming pool was completed, which is another important phase aim of the Universiade, following the completion of the steel structure of the main stadium last month.
According to the introduction of the project principal of the Municipal Construction Works Bureau, the main steel structure of the swimming pool is single layer folded with space grid, with total weight of the steel structure of over 4200 tons, span of 92.4 meters and height of 23.5 meters, which is consisted of seven structural units with similar shapes. The steel structure project of the swimming pool is undertook by Zhejiang Extractive Steel Structure Co,. Ltd who has undertaken the steel structure construction of the Bird Nestle of Olympic and National Sports Stadium.
It is said that to guarantee the hoisting of the 4200-tons mammoth be on perfectly safe, the Municipal Construction Works Bureau has organized several famous domestic and overseas experts on steel structure to guide on the site and confirm to adopt the leading technology in China of Hydraulic Pressure Synchronous Accumulative Slippage for the steel structure construction of the swimming pool on the base of several demonstration and repeated test. When sliding, the pressure on the single side of the steel structure reaches 700 tons, which is the largest in China until now.
Yesterday morning, with the last unit sliding 18 meters and reaching the position set, the installation project of the swimming pool’s steel structure of the Universiade Center had been completed.
