Shenzhen’s prefabricated houses for Taiwan are on their way
Last night, an ocean going freighter carrying about 400 prefabricated houses set sail again from Yantian International Container Terminal and was expected to arrive at the Port of Kaohsiung Taiwan at noon today. By then, the one thousand prefabricated houses donated by Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Municipal Government for aiding Taiwan, divided into four batches, have been all shipped to Taiwan.
On August 9 of this year, affected by the Typhoon Morakot, Taiwan encountered the most serious disasters in 50 years, which has got the concern of the compatriots on the mainland. After receiving the emergent tasks of Taiwan Affairs Office and Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits, Shenzhen Municipal Committee of Communist Party of China and Municipal Government immediately organized manufacturer to produce the materials day and night. 100 units of prefabricated houses have been produced within two days and were shipped from Yantian No.5 Port on August 17, which is the first batch of materials of the mainland to aid Taiwan disaster areas. The second batch of prefabricated houses was shipped from Yantian to Taiwan on August 20. On August 23, the third batch totaled 300 units were shipped as scheduled at Yantian Port. As of last night, the last 400 units of the prefabricated houses of the total 1000 units were loaded and ready for departure.
To guarantee those disaster relief materials to be smoothly shipped and arrived at Taiwan, under the coordination of the ARATS, the departments of Shenzhen Customs and Maritime Sectors all opened green channel services.
