Shenzhen to tear down and reconstruct 11 highway bridges in danger
According to High Way Bureau of Guangdong Province, Shenzhen will dismantle and reconstruct 11 highway bridges in danger, of which the removal and reconstruction of Pingxi Bridge is expected to be completed by late October and the construction of the bridge pile foundation, bearing platform and cap beam of Dapeng Bridge No.2 of Dawang Line have been finished and proceeded smoothly.
The eleven bridges of Dapeng No.2 Bridge of Dawang Line, Yongfu Bridge of Xitian Line, Biling Bridge of Gaoheng Line, Xinmu Bridge of Liangping Line, Pingxi Bridge and Pingxi Small Bridge of Pinggao Line etc. respectively locate at the communities of Dapeng, Longgang, Pingshan, Pinghu, Pingdi and so on in Shenzhen, which were all established in 80’s and early 90’s of last century with low design standards.
With the traffic volume up surging in Shenzhen, those bridges, under the weight of the extra-heavy vehicles, have been damaged seriously, leaving severe potential safety hazards. Authorized by the competent department of high level, the bridge removal and reconstruction will be carried out by Shenzhen Local Road Administration Station.
