Two Shenzhen cultural plazas win laurels
The Awarding Meeting of the 3rd National Characteristic Cultural Plazas, hosted by China Mass Culture Academy and China Culture Newspaper Office, was held in Liaobu Town Dongguan City and Shenzhen’s two cultural plazas were nominated. Leaders of State Cultural Relics Bureau, China Mass Culture Academy, China Culture Newspaper Office, Department of Cultural of Guangdong Province and leaders of relevant departments took part in the awarding activity and presented medals for the units that got the award.
Longcheng Cultural Plaza in Longgang district and Mass Cultural Plaza in Baoan district were appraised as national characteristic culture plazas. In addition, in the plazas appraised, there were famous central plazas in big cities, community plazas that are close to the mass and also township plazas that go deep into rural areas, according to the report.
It’s said that appraising and choosing of national characteristic culture plazas is directed by the Social Culture Office of the Ministry of Culture and hosted by China Mass Culture Academy and China Culture Newspaper Office. Since hosted in 2004, the selection has been hosted for three times. This appraisement finally selected 35 national characteristic cultural plazas and 18 national characteristic cultural activates.
