4.8b for Shenzhen’s government-subsidized houses

In recent years, Shenzhen has constantly intensified its efforts on the work of housing system. According to the introduction of relevant person of Shenzhen Municipal Housing and Construction Bureau yesterday, Shenzhen has basically solved the housing difficulties of the low-income families that had obtained Shenzhen household registration before December 31, 2005. Since 2005, the covering rate of the low-rent houses has reached 100%.

According to incomplete statistics, by the end of October this year, Shenzhen had completed accumulated investment of about 4.768 billion Yuan for the construction of the government-subsidized houses. In the 71 projects that are arranged for construction, 10 have been completed, 14 have been started, 41 are still in the construction process and 6 are in difficulties.

In 2007 and 2008, Shenzhen respectively provided 6006 sets and 2726 sets government-subsidized houses for the low-income families in the society, basically solving the housing difficulties of the low-income families that had obtained Shenzhen’s household registration before December 31, 2005.

Currently, Shenzhen has initially formed a multilevel housing system for the low-rent-and-living houses of double particular poor families, public renting houses of the sandwich class and the affordable houses of the low-income families. However, due to the peculiar land and population condition, Shenzhen still exist each kind of contradiction of government-subsidized houses.
