AIDS detection network initially formed in Shenzhen

From January to October this year, Shenzhen had screened 700000 persons for HIV/AIDS and reported 812 cases of HIV infections, of which 123 cases are AIDS and 6 cases died. As of October 31 this year, the city has reported HIV infections of accumulated 4229 cases, of which 960 cases are AIDS and 1238 cases died. According to the monitoring results of Shenzhen, the experts estimated that Shenzhen has had HIV infections of 6200 persons.

Yesterday afternoon, after taking part in the activity of Shenzhen AIDS Prevention Activity, Vice Mayor Tang Jie came to Shenzhen No.3 People’s Hospital, which is for the treatment of AIDS patients, and expressed his sincere greetings to those who have unfortunately been infected with AIDS virus.

President of the No.3 People’s Hospital, Zhou Boping said that, the out-patient volume of AIDS this year of the hospital would make a breakthrough of 4000 person times and the in-patients would also break 300 person times, of which 80% were extra floating population.
