China Southern to increase airlines from Shenzhen
Today is the 18th anniversary of China Southern Airlines Shenzhen Branch. As the earliest base airline in Shenzhen, China Southern Airline Shenzhen Branch, in the last 18 years, have had total safety record of 400,000 hours and total transportation volume of 5.26 billion tons, with its airlines expanding to over 60 domestic cities from originally two or three. It’s anticipated that China Southern will increase the airlines departing from Shenzhen to 70.
As the earliest base airlines in Shenzhen, China Southern Airline Shenzhen Branch has created several No.1s in Shenzhen aviation and even China aviation, such as opening the first Shenzhen international airline, creating the first Shenzhen occidental all-cargo service airline, the first airlines putting forward electronic tickets and online self-service, introducing super large Boeing 747 all-cargo carriers, opening 95539 tickets booking service to the whole nation and so on.
Facing the impact of the global financial crisis and weak domestic market demands, China Southern made promised not to reduce the salary and the staff, but required the overall employees to set up a concept of living an “austere life”. From July 2008, China Southern had reduced the salaries of middle-level management by 10% with the intention to pass the crisis awareness to grass roots management, changing the pressure into impetus to cope with the crisis. The company, on one side, strives for revenue maximization through all-round strengthening of internal operation and management and, on the other side, tries to save energy and reduces consumption through the control of cost.
