Production Line of 8.5 Generation LCD Panel started in Shenzhen

Jointly invested and operated by Shenzhen Century Science ＆Technology Investment Corporation and TCL Corporation, the production line project of the 8.5 Generation LCT panel in Shenzhen, with total investment of 24.5 billion Yuan, was formally started on the Hi-tech Fair this year.

The project’s construction unit and operating body is Shenzhen Huaxing Electro-optical technology Co., Ltd that has just been announced of establishment on the Hi-tech Fair. The capital of the company is 10 billion Yuan, invested by Shenzhen Century Science ＆Technology Investment Corporation and TCL Corporation with 5 billion Yuan respectively. The project, locating at Hi-tech Industrial Park, Guangming New District, Shenzhen, is planed to be started in January 2010 and completed in late 2011.

Chairman of the Board of TCL, Li Dongsheng said, after completion, the main products of the project is liquid crystal display TV modules of the sizes of 26 to 32 inches, 46 inches and 55 inches, with design capacity of 100,000 sheets per month and annual output of LCD TV modules of 14,000,000 pieces.

The production line of 8.5 generation LCD panel started in Shenzhen is the highest generation of the TFT-LCD production line as of now in China, which has significant meaning to the domestic color TV industry from the term of technology development. This is the first stride of China on the construction of competitiveness of the flat panel display industry and the implementation of industry updating, and also a new milestone for China’s electronic information industry.
