Shenzhen’s “submarine forest” appears
To effectively safeguard the marine eco-environment, Shenzhen has accelerated its step of protecting the oceans. According to Shenzhen Ocean and Fishery Service Center yesterday, the “submarine forest” built by Shenzhen has appeared its shape.
According to the introduction, the Municipal Ocean and Fishery Service Center has always considered it an important measure for promoting the construction of marine ecological civilization and the through artificial propagation, the marine eco-environment has been improved and the living marine resources have been recovered to a certain extend.
Shenzhen’s artificial reef construction was started in 2002. Currently, Shenzhen has completed the construction plan and clearly designated a total area of 9.96 square kilometers for four sea areas of artificial reef in “Shenzhen Marine Function Zoning”. Yangmeikeng Artificial Reef, which is the first open artificial reef in the whole province, has been completed and is confirmed as the “demonstration zone for artificial reef ecological regulation technology in South China Sea district”. Shenzhen Marine Fishing Center, together with Shanghai Ocean University and South China Sea Fisheries Research Institute has applied for national high-tech research development plan, jointly developing the research of relevant technology.
