Shenzhen Metro No.3 Line collapsed again
On the afternoon of November 11, a small-area collapse happened on the construction site of Shenzhen Metro No.3 Line. Shenzhen Municipal Housing and Construction Bureau had made notification especially on the security incidence on of the construction of metro, requiring the metro construction unit to attach importance to the safety issues on the day before the accident. However, the No.3 Line had another site collapse, which had caused extensive concerns of the society.
After the collapse happened, the project technicians arrived quickly on the spot and made investigation. “The collapse is caused the loose of the backfill and is not serious,” one of the technicians said after the investigation.
Days before, the Municipal Housing Construction Bureau had made brief on the six accidents and dangerous situations during the construction consecutively occurred in Shenzhen recently, pointing out that the continuous occurrence of accidents and dangerous situations of the track traffic project reveals that the corporations are impercipient to the risks of the construction under complex geology condition, inadequate to the measures of prediction, forecasting and anticipating controls, short of treatment experience and ability after the dangerous situations appear, and inadequate to the cognition of the social influence that could be caused. The Bureau will collectively carry out special treatment for the accidents of collapse and falling recently, preventing the occurrence of them.
According to the statistics, there are 14 accidents and dangerous cases occurred on the metro project in Shenzhen in the fist half year, with death toll of five persons. As of now, Shenzhen Metro’s construction site have occurred several safety accidents with death toll of 13 persons.
