3rd Shenzhen Universiade Cultural Festival started
As required by the Bidding Report and the Executive Board of the Universiade, Universiade Cultural Festival should be held around January 17 every year before the 2011 Universiade for disseminating Universiade knowledge and propagandizing Universiade culture. The 3rd Universiade Cultural Festival is planed to be held during the period from December 15 2009 to January 17 2010.
At the time that the Universiade fully comes into Shenzhen Time, Secretary Liu Yupu sends out general mobilization order through out the city calling for “welcoming the Universiade, running the Universiade and creating a cultural, harmonious and international city”. Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen Wang Rong also calls for the citizens to “join in, contribute and share the Universiade”, and this is the circumstance in which the 3rd Universiade Cultural Festival is held.
By far, Shenzhen has held two Universiade Cultural Festivals respectively in 2008 and 2009, which have all obtained expected effects under the cooperation and participation of the member units of the Executive Board of the Universiade.
This Universiade Cultural Festival will continue the principles of the previous two and try its best to coordinate the city resources, especially the resources of the member units of the Executive Board of the Universiade to take part in each activity of the Festival.
