IC cards to be generally used before Shenzhen Unviersiade
Shenzhen Coordination Office for the development of bank card industry, People’s Bank of China Shenzhen Central Branch, Shenzhen Banking Regulatory Bureau, Shenzhen Union Pay, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Shenzhen Branch etc jointly held the “All-round Promotion Ceremony for the electronic cash application of Shenzhen Financial IC Card.”
According to the introduction of some insider, on the currently Shenzhen market, there are more than 100 businesses that accept electronic cash and more and more businesses will open this function. Around the Spring Festival next year, the financial IC card will be added with the functions of Shenzhen Tong, with its using range covering all the fields that Shenzhen Tong is used. Shenzhen will positively promote and strive to realize the generally use of the financial IC card in Shenzhen before the 2011 Universiade.
Relevant person of Shenzhen Coordination Office for the development of bank card industry, Yang Boping said the electronic cash function of the financial IC card has reduced the cash circulation in micro-payment field, which is the important milestone in the eletronization of currency and will be an important revolution in the payment field.
Since Shenzhen Municipal Government took a lead in researching the development plan of the financial IC card in 2008, Shenzhen’s financial IC card has development fast.
