Merlo：Universiade to attract more eyes on Shenzhen
On the afternoon of November 30, Chairman of International Sports Press Association (AIPS), Gianni Merlo, carried out a discussion with Vice Chairman of the Executive Board and Director of the Executive Bureau of Shenzhen Universiade, Liang Daoxing at the meeting room of the Executive Bureau of the Universiade.
Liang expressed his welcome for the coming of Mr. Merlo and made an all-round introduction of the preparation condition for the Unversiade. For the two years that Shenzhen have obtained the holding right of the Universiade, every preparation work has been progressing smoothly. Liang emphasized media is one of the most important work during the preparation and he quoted the words of Mr. Samaranch, Chairman of the International Olympic Committee, “the success of the Olympic depends on the Medias” and so does it to the Universiade. He promised free interviewing environment and favorable accommodation will be provided for the media during the holding of the Universiade with the hope of attracting more Medias to pay attention for this.
Mr. Merlo exchanged views with Liang Daoxing on this issue, who thought the most important thing of the Universiade is to exhibit Shenzhen to the world. Merlo attached importance to the market development of the Universiade and how to attract more media to participate. First, he hoped a young journalist training plan can be set up; second, he thought propagandizing should be carried out from the culture of the Universiade.
