Shenzhen Government Plans to Build a “Huawei City”
“Huawei City”, which takes Huawei, one of Shenzhen’s most well-known high-tech enterprises as its core, is expected to rise on the geographic center of Shenzhen. At present, Longgang district government has decided to guide the Bantian residents to support Huawei to realize “area upgrade.” To create a “Huawei City”, they actively bring in commercial and residential facilities, and comprehensively control and manage the surrounding environment and social security around Huawei.
The official of Biantian Street Commission Office introduced that the approximate range of “Huawei City” would cover the south of Bulan CI Road, the west of Banxu Revenue, the north of the old Bulong Road, and the east of Meiguan Highway. According to the news from Longgang City Commission Office, Longgang is going to start the entire adjustment plan to change the 5 m2 areas surrounding the scope of Huawei. Thus the overall planning of “Huawei City” is expected to be launched by the end of this year.
According to reports, Bantian Street is Longgang District’s “Tax Warehouse.” From January to September in 2009, Bantian Street has achieved revenue of 12.3 billion, accounting for 50.2% of the whole revenue of Longgang District. It also has 521 new enterprises, which attributed to the hard-work of Huawei. Therefore, the Shenzhen government supports Huawei more.
Recently, Longgang District secretary Jiang Zunyu surveyed Bantian’s surrounding environment, and indicated that there was a great difference between Huawei’s internal and external environment and urban planning. Longgang District would soon start the plan to build “Huawei City” so as to narrow the gap between internal and external areas. He also instructed, “We should come up with the scheme to adjust Huawei’s surrounding environmental landscape in a high standard as soon as possible. For the surrounding land, we must immediately conduct a comprehensive clean-up. Once the land is got back, Bantian’s development will have enough space.”
The official of Longgang District said that they were doing preliminary work plan for the “Huawei City”, which would be expected to be launched by the end of this year.
