Song solicitation for Shenzhen Unversiade comes into Beijing University
On the evening of November 20, Beijing University 2009-2010 Campus Singers Preliminary Contest and Campus Song Solicitation Activity of 26th Shenzhen Summer Universiade was formally opened at Nanpei Palace of the library of Beijing University.
It’s said that this activity will be lasting until the middle of December, with about 500 students of Beijing University joining in. Due to the large number of participants, the contest will be divided into ten rounds and the half of the singers who have obtained higher scores in each round will be qualified to take part in the final competition in the middle of December.
The global campus song solicitation activity of the Universiade was formally started on October 26, 2009 and will select the theme songs for the 26th Unversiade, the torch relay and the volunteers and also will select campus singers within the national high schools as the theme song singers for the Universiade. By now, China Central Academy of Fine Arts has popularized the Universiade song solicitation activity into the students through the holding of the singer contest. In the following half month, there will be more famous universities including Beijing University, Tsinghua University, Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing Foreign Language University, and Yunnan University etc. to bring the Universiade song solicitation activity into the campus, making more students of universities know and take part in the activity.
Unversiade is a big platform for the young friends from all over the world to exchange views and exhibit themselves. The series of campus song solicitation activity are believed to present the elegant demeanor of the modern university students in China.
