Huawei announced global first backbone network synergy planning solution

Huawei announced that it has launched the world’s first backbone network synergy planning solution which, backed by Huawei’s multi-layer network planning tool called iManager MDS660, could enable the IP layer and the transport layer coordinate well with each other to improve the utilization of network resources and reliability and to reduce the operation and maintenance cost.

President of Huawei’s Network Product Line, Christian Chua pointed out that Huawei’s innovative synergy planning solution is the first in the world to offer inner-layer traffic synergy, synergy protection and synergy management.

The bandwidth resource management of this solution could enhance the utilization of network resource and assign the traffic in a unified manner, thus achieving synergistic traffic processing on IP and traffic layer. The interaction between IP and traffic layer eliminates the repetitive protection when problems occur, reduce resource waste, provide high efficient protection and enhance the network’s reliability.

Huawei has good performance in IP and transport field, including previously commercial deployment of 2+4 5T cluster router system NE5000E and Tbit WDM/OTN OSN8800. The research report of Ovum in 2009 shows Huawei has ranked the first in the backbone WDM market share. In addition, it has been also appraised as one of the three large router manufacturers in 2009 by Infonetics Corporation.

Huawei is the industry’s only vendor listed in the top three for both backbone WDM and core router technology.
