Shenzhen proposes 1.4b for the Universiade within two years
“Longgang District will make investment of 1.4 billion Yuan within two years from now to implement the ‘City Environment Improvement Plan’ to finish the renovation task on an all-round base before the Universiade and to create a demonstration street at each neighborhood.” Warden of Longgang District, Zhang Bei said in his Government Work Report on the Sixth Session of the Fourth People’s Congress of Longgang District held yesterday.
The Report put forward that Longgang, Shenzhen will complete the comprehensive treatment for Shenhui Road and 48 comprehensive treatment projects within this year.
According to the blueprint described by the report, by the time that the Unviersiade Flame is lighted on August 2011, the Metro Line 3 will start operating on an all-round base, and a large batch of main roads including the Shuiguan Highway reconstructed, the new Shenhui Road, Longxiang Road, Beitong Road and Nantong Road will be put into operation on after another. By then, the traffic condition of Longgang District will be improved and the urban area with landscape features of “tropical scenery, flower seasons and ecological environment” which is suitable for living will appear before the eyes of the world.
