Volunteers recruiting work starts for Shenzhen Universiade

The starting ceremony for volunteers recruiting work of the 26th Summer Universiade was ceremoniously held at the sport venue of Shenzhen University on the evening of January 9. Over 2200 volunteers and people from different part of the society together witness the starting ceremony.

This Universiade plans to recruit 160,000 volunteers, including 20,000 game-time volunteers, 40,000 city volunteers and 100,000 social volunteers.

Liang Daoxing, Vice Chairman of the Executive Board and Director of the Executive Bureau of Shenzhen Universiade, Zeng Yingru, vice Secretary of Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Youth League and Mark, Supervisor of the Summer Universiade of the FISU attend the starting ceremony. Liang Daoxing addresses that a high quality volunteer team and high level volunteer service is important base and effective guarantee for the successful holding of the 2011 Shenzhen Universiade. He hopes that people from different part of the society could all participate in the volunteer service work of Shenzhen Universiade and response to the theme call of “holding the game, holding the city; new Universiade, new Shenzhen” provided by the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government in the spirit of “contribution, friendship, mutual aid and progress”, contributing their own wisdom and power for Shenzhen Universiade.

The sponsor has systematically introduced the slogan and logo of the Universiade and awarded prizes for the designers on the ceremony.

The game-time volunteer recruiting work will continue until March of 2011 while recruiting for city volunteers and social volunteers will be finished in June the same year.
