ZTE wins a $378m contract from South African mobile operator

ZTE, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, announced on January 26 that the Company, together with its subsidiary ZTE South Africa Holding has entered into the Network Supply Agreement and the Managed Services Agreement with South African mobile operator CellC (PTY) LTD and its controlling share holder OGERTELECOM (SOUTHAFRICA)(PTY)Ltd. with contract value of $378 million dollars.

According to the contract, ZTE and its subsidiary will provide GSM/UM TS network turn-key solution and operation service to Cell C (PTY) LTD. at an aggregate sum of 378 million dollars. The project is expected to last for three years, during which the Company will recognize relevant revenue and cost as per corresponding schedule of completion. This contract belongs to product sale and project service contract relating to daily business and operation of ZTE.

Cell C (PTY) LTD. is the first in operating GSM 900M/1800M dual mode network in South Africa. ZTE is a world leading listed company of the comprehensive communication manufacture industry and one of the providers of the global communication solutions. In the international telecommunication market, ZTE has provided high quality products and services for over 500 operators in more than 140 countries and districts. In the first three month of 2009, the Company has realized net profit of 1.192 billion Yuan, up by 46.13% comparing to the same period last year.
