All Universiade venues to be competed this year
The 6th Plenary Session of the Executive Committee of the 26th Summer Universiade Shenzhen was held at Citizen Center in Shenzhen on February 3, on which Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen, Wang Rong stressed 2010 is the “spurting year” for the preparation work of the Univerdiade and we must completed all the construction, maintenance and reconstruction work of all the venues of the Universiade and put them into use, allowing enough time for trial operation.
Wang Rong presided over the meeting and the city leaders Li Yizhen, Xu Qin, Lv Ruifeng, Chen Yingchun, Wang Xiaomao, Zhuo Qinrui, Li Ming and Tang Tjie participated. Liang Daoxing, Director General of the Executive Office of the Universiade briefed the latest development of the preparation work of the Universiade and work arrangement as well as the report of implementation of relevant plans.
Wang Rong stresses Shenzhen will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Special Administrative Region via the preparation work for the Universiade, promoting the construction of the city’s important infrastructure, improving the city’s environment and image and further enhancing the citizens’ sense of honor and home. He points out all the construction, maintenance and reconstruction work for the Universiade venues should be completed within this year, allowing for enough time for trial operation and the problems should be solved timely once found. The construction of the primary and secondary road network and the public transportation network for the Universiade should be accelerated and promoted to provide favorable transportation security for the holding of the events, laying a base for improving basically the current transportation condition.
