Baidu to Build its International Headquarters in Shenzhen

Shenzhen Municipal Government and Baidu held a signing ceremony for the Strategic Cooperation Agreement in Shenzhen on February 1, which indicate that Baidu Corporation’s investment project in Shenzhen has been fully started.

According to the Strategic Cooperation Agreement, Shenzhen Municipal Government and Baidu Corporation, in line with the principal of “corporation leading, government promoting, all-round innovation, mutual benefit and win-win”, will accelerate to promote the development of the internet industry, making full use of the comprehensive advantages of Shenzhen’s talented people, information, finance, system and mechanism, industrial support and the policy and law environment as well as Baidu corporation’s leading advantages in the internet domain.

Wang Rong, Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen said on the signing ceremony that Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government has attached great importance to the development of the internet industry by listing it as one of the three big emerging industries for further promotion and put forward a series of reinvigorating plans and industrial policies, opening up an extensive space for the development of internet corporations. The all-round starting of the Baidu’s investment project in Shenzhen will definitely enhance Baidu’s radiation influence in the South of China and even in the Southeast Asia.

Li Yanhong, Chairman & CEO of Baidu Corporation said, “according to the Agreement, Baidu Corporation will invest and build its international headquarters and research and development center in Shenzhen and wil further strengthen the industrial cooperation with Shenzhen.”
