UPS Asia-Pacific Transshipment Center moves to Shenzhen
UPS, one of the largest international express corporations yesterday announced the maiden voyage ceremony for opening navigation to Shenzhen Baoan International Airport is formally held, which indicate its Asia-Pacific Transshipment Center locating in Philippines is formally moved to Shenzhen Airport, the fourth largest airport in China.
UPS Asia-Pacific Transshipment Center is equipped with 24-hour-operating licensed warehouse that could handle international transportation and express goods and also could provide expresses’ custom services for the corporations in the Pearl River Delta areas.
Derek Woodward, President of UPS Asia-Pacific Region said, “as a part of the strategic adjustment, UPS’s transshipment center locating at Clark Philippines will be positioned as an important gateway for the local import an export trade, continuing to exert its foundation of central status in our logistic operation service. ”
It’s remarkable that Fedex, another leading express corporation in the United States will also move its Asia-Pacific Transshipment Center from Philippines to Guangzhou, which means the two international express corporations all prefer the huge market in Pearl River Delta.
Currently, the express industry in Asia has been growing fast. Data shows, as of 2020, the trade volume of the Asia-Pacific region is expected to grow with annual rate of 12.2%, higher than 7.3% annual growth anticipation of bilateral trade between Asia and the United States of the same period.
