ZTE and PTCL complete the EV-DO Rev.B test
ZTE, a global leading provider of telecommunication equipments and network solutions, and PTCL, the largest fixed network operator in Pakistan, jointly announced recently that the two parties have successfully completed the test for EV-DO Rev.B trial network that covers Islamabad, Faisalabad and other important cities in the first phase, with average download speed of up to 9.1 Mbps, nearly the peak speed of 9.3 Mbps in theory.
PTCL, the largest state-owned operator in Pakistan with its CDMA WLL network covering the whole country, chose ZTE as its main supplier of CDMA in 2004 and got help from ZTE to complete the EV-DO Rev. A network with speed updated to 3.1 Mbps.
Manager General of CDMA Product Line of ZTE, Li Jian said, “as a CDMA provider focusing on creating the largest value for the customers, ZTE help PTCL for the first time complete the fastest CDMA network test in the South Asian areas with the quickest speed and the best professional service. ”
As a leader of CDMA network’s technical innovation, ZTE has bee focusing on the promotion and development of this technology. On January 10, 2010, ZTE built the commercial EV-DO Rev.B network in the world in Indonesia. On February, 2009, ZTE made through the first EV-DO Rev.B call in the world. In July, 2009, ZTE exhibited the EV-Do Rev.B and LTE dual mode systems on Japanese Communication Exhibition, with its SDR (Software Defined Radio) allowing smooth evolution to Rev.B from Rev.A.
