15,000 Shenzhen Candidates Participated in Oral English Test of College Entrance Examination
Yesterday, the two-day oral English exam of 2010 general college entrance examination started in Shenzhen. There were 15000 candidates taking part in exam through “man-machine dialogue.” According to statistics, there was no one late for or cheating in the exam except three candidates absent on the first day. All the 17 examination rooms were in good order with the examination equipment operating normally.
Oral examination, as a test with high “risk index”, demands highly of test equipment and environment in order to ensure that the examination is to go on smoothly. As early as a week ago, the candidates had participated in a mock examination. All the examination rooms and the examination procedures were in strict accordance with the requirements of college entrance examination, so the candidates were familiar with the testing environment in this examination.
It is reported that this year is the last time to set the independent Oral English Test. According to the new “adjustment program” for college entrance examination reform in Guangdong Province in 2010, the college entrance examination will combine Oral English and Listening test into one from next year on. It’s said that test scores will be included in total score, accounting for 10% of the total score of English subjects. All participants of the English language subject have to take English listening and oral test.
