36 Reconstruction Venues of Shenzhen Universiade Commenced

36 maintenance and reconstruction venues of Shenzhen Universiade have been commenced on an all-round base and have made progresses in phase sense, according to the Working Meeting of Shenzhen Unversiade Maintenance and Reconstruction Venues held on 24th.

Since the 26th Shenzhen Universiade Venues Maintenance and Reconstruction Plan issued by the Executive Board of Shenzhen Univerisade in January 2009, the Executive Bureau of the Universiade, as per the regulation, undertakes the maintenance and reconstruction task of the venues of the Universiade events assigned by the owner and authority in charge.

According to the introduction, as of February 2010, among the 36 maintenance and reconstruction venues, except for 4 projects, the other 32 reconstruction projects are divided into five categories as per the early stage schedule, of which 2 have entered into construction preparation stage, 6 have entered into the preliminary design stage, 3 have entered into plan design stage, 18 have completed the project proposals and are waiting for approval and 3 have not completed the preparation of project preparation.

The meeting points out that 2010 is the crucial and spurting year for the preparation work of Shenzhen Universiade. As per the work deployment, all the venues including newly constructed and reconstructed must be completed and put into use by the end of this year. The main difficulties that the maintenance and reconstruction work of the venues now face are the tight time and heavy task. The Meeting requires, in this crucial stage, each functional department should grant active support, enhance the supervision strength and set up the system of clarifying responsibility to each individual person.

“The Universiade venues, not matter the new constructed projects or the currently reconstructed venues, will be the venues and facilities for the citizens to hold sport meetings and to carry out civil excises in the future. Therefore, the Universiade venues are not only the international image projects, but also people’s livelihood projects. ” Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, Lv Ruifeng emphasized.
