Doping Test Preparations Pushed Forward for the Universiade

Conducting doping tests and creating a fair, impartial and clean racing environment is one of the most important responsibilities of the 26th Shenzhen Summer Universiade.

In the middle of January this year, Mr. Mark Vandenr Plas, Director of Summer Universiade of the FISU and Dr. Laurence D. Rick, Chairman of Medical Committee came Shenzhen and has communicated with the Executive Bureau of Shenzhen Universiade for several times on the issues of policies and rules that doping test should follow, setting of the doping test stations and testing procedure etc. They have also confirmed clearly the testing method to be adopted.

It’s known that doping test is very professional and complicated work with high responsibility and can be only conducted by the organizations approved by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

The Organization Committee of Shenzhen has paid high attention on the doping test work. In order to make full preparation, the Executive Bureau of Shenzhen Universiade recently conducted a special discuss with the China Anti-doping Agency (CADA) , the only one in China, and made demonstration and policy consultation on formulation of testing plan, work program and the establishment of testing team. CADA grants policy explanation and professional direction and said it will spare no efforts supporting the work of doping test for Shenzhen University. On the Discussion, the two parties communicated on the cooperation intent and cooperation mode.

Currently, Executive Bureau of Shenzhen Universiade has put forward preliminary program for the building of doping test stations as per the setting of the racing items, schedule and distribution of stadiums and venues and is formulating work plans and promotion programs. Each preparation works has been orderly promoted.
