Hehu New Houses, the largest domestic houses buildings in China, cover an area nearly 2.5 hectares, and a construction area of 14,530 square meters. Now they are the key historical site under state protection in Shenzhen.
Hehu New Houses, set up in Jiaqing 22nd (AD 1817), are Luo’s hereditary houses in Longgang. Their outside shape is slightly trapezoidal with wider forepart and narrower rear part. The internal construction object possesses the architecture style of three Tongs and two wing-rooms, and is divided into the inside and the periphery. Inside the fence, the houses, the halls, the tongs, the rooms, the wells and the cloisters are all in picturesque disorder.
