Huawei proposes $50 million for R&D center in turkey
According to the report of foreign media, Huawei has set up Research and Development Center in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey and the Opening Ceremony was held on February 27.
Jiang Yafei, Global Vice President of Huawei said on the Ceremony, “through the R&D Center in Turkey, we will establish a team with innovative spritis, striding to the success of the global telecom industry in the future.”
Huawei, starting operation in Turkey in 2002, now has owned 500 employees and plans to recruit 500 Turkish employees. “We will invest over 50 million dollars to set up the research and development team,” he supplemented.
Binali Yildirim, Minister of the Ministry of Communications of Turkey, Gong Xiaosheng, Chinese Ambassador in Turkey and Zhang Zhiliang, Consul General of China in Istanbul participated in the Opening Ceremony.
Binali Yildirim said that Huawei has great meaning for the development Turkey’s high technology and welcome Chinese enterprises to come into Turkey.
Gong Xiaosheng said Huawei’s setting up of the R&D Center in Turkey sends two signals to China and Turkey, one is that more Chinese high-tech corporations will come to invest in Turkey in the future and the other is that Turkey is a country with good investment environment for China.
It’s said that Huawei has set up 15 research and development center and 20 innovation center in the world.
