Shenzhen Attracts Post-Doctors to Settle Down
Recently, 12 post-doctoral innovative practical bases had been added in Shenzhen.
It is learned that the city’s post-doctoral work began in 1995. Up to 2009, it had totally enrolled 650 post-doctoral staffs. Currently there are more than 230 post-doctors pursued in workstations, 60 post-doctoral affiliations and workstations, and 40 innovative practical bases, including the Shenzhen Metro Group Co., Ltd., China Development Institute (China • Shenzhen), The Orchid Conservation & Research Center of Shenzhen, etc. Its number of working staffs and workstations ranked No. 1 in Guangdong Province.
Wang Min, the commissioner of Shenzhen Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, expressed that Shenzhen was studying relevant supporting policies, including substantially raising the standard of funding stations, subsidies for post-doctors in the station and academic support, as well as opening up green channels for their spouses’ employment and children’s enrollment, so as to provide better conditions for post-doctors in the station.
