Tunnel of Shenzhen Metro Line 5 penetrated

On the morning of February 28, the tunnel of the section between Fanshen and Lingzhidungou, the last section of Shenzhen Metro Line 5 with total length of 40.001 kilometers, was penetrated, which laid a solid foundation for the trial operation of the Line 5 in June of next year.

Among all the projects in the second phase of Shenzhen track traffic, Metro Line 5 is the longest and hardest project with the most complicated technology. The Line, from Qianhaiwan in the West to Huangbeiling in the East, is set up with 27 stations, 26 sections, 1 card depot, 1 park, 1 main transformer station, and 3 comprehensive transfer hinges, with total investment of 20.6 billion Yuan. Shenzhen Metro Line 5 is the supporting urban traffic projects that Shenzhen Municipal Government promised to the world when bidding for the 26th Universiade in 2011, which connects with the special Line 3 of the Universiade and will effectively relieve the traffic pressure during the holding of the Universiade.

It’s remarkable that Shenzhen firstly adopts BT mode on the construction of Metro Line 5 which is the largest BT mode project in process in China currently.
