Xinguogong Wen Tianxiang Memorial is an ancestral hall that was built to honor the memory of national hero Wen Tianxiang in the reign of Emperor Jiaqing. It still survives intact.
Wen Tianxiang is on intimate terms with the Wen family in Shenzhen area. According to “the Wen family tree of Bao’an County”, after the army of Song Dynasty was defeated, Xinguogong was under arrest. Wenshangong went to Yanjing and divided grief with him. But Xinguogong was so loyal to the Song Dynasty that he wouldn’t flee from the enemy, just entrusted his mother and children to his brother. So Wenshangong brought the family to Dongguan. Descended from Wenshangong, the whole Wen family now has hundreds of thousands of people.
