ZTE increased nearly ten thousand employees last year
ZTE yesterday announced the Company does not have any plan for downsizing or the so called layoff in disguised form and has maintained normal turnover of personnel according to the prevailing systems. The employees that are dismissed as per the law due to the incompetence of work in the whole year are only several hundreds of persons. There has been a net increase of nearly ten thousand persons in the whole 2009 with the total employees reaching 70 thousand. ZTE this year will still maintain a large growth rate.

Spokesman of the Brand Department of ZTE released that, while the financial crisis in 2009 resulted in globally large reduction of personnel among the same trade, ZTE, opposing the tendency, achieved net margin increase of 43% to 56% on year-on-year base. Therefore, ZTE does not have the plan to reduce personnel, but face great pressure of talented person recruitment brought by the Company’s high speed global expansion. It’s said that ZTE, in 2009, has kept the personnel recruitment impetus of 2008, including campus recruitment of 4000 persons and social recruitment, totaling net increase of nearly ten thousand persons.
He said ZTE in 2010 will still maintain large growth rate of employees and the research and development persons will be increased to 30 thousand. ZTE does not release any details about the overall recruitment plan and numbers.
