2nd Factory of BYD Xi’an to reach production capacity of 400,000
The delegation of “The 4th Chinese Network Media to Shannxi” visited the production base of BYD in Shannxi locating at the high-tech zone of Xi’an city.
BYD Auto is directly owned by BYD Corporation. After formally purchasing Shannxi Qinchuan Auto Co., LTD and establishing BYD Auto in 2003, BYD bought 1 million square meter land at Xi’an Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone for new facilities, establishing Xi’an production base. Since then, BYD has entered into the auto manufacture and sale field, starting the development of independent national auto brand.
Since established in 2003, BYD Auto has received great support of the central and the provincial government and has quickly grew into the leading corporation of Shannxi Province with the establishment of the development and production of the whole vehicle and components.
Currently, the three production line of BYD Xi’an Facility has daily capacity of 1500 units. The second facility of BYD Xi’an Facility will started with annual production capacity to reach 400,000 units.
While developing traditional fuel-powered vehicles, BYD also focuses on the research& development and production of the electro-mobile and hybrid vehicles. Through several investigations on BYD, central leaders have paid much attention on the development condition of BYD as independent-brand corporation and have granted inspiring encourages and supports. In the six years from 2009 to 2015, BYD will build a 5000MW solar energy battery production line in Shannxi.
