How to enter Hong Kong’s Lo Wu Control Point through land route? Visitors can take the land, sea and air routes to visit Hong Kong. There are 11 control points available for visitors. Hong Kong Immigration Department pledges: the majority of visitors can get Immigration formalities done within 30 minutes (for air travelers is 15 minutes), but in the peak time of entry, passengers have to wait for longer time to cross. Hong Kong is adjacent to Shenzhen, therefore it’s bound to pass through Shenzhen to Hong Kong from the land.

Lo Wu is Hong Kong’s largest and most famous passenger land boundary control points. There are visitors lobby especially for immigration clearance. During the tourist season, there are more people. Thanks to larger clearance space and more counters, so it takes shorter time to cross than in other control points. Its running time is from 6:30 am to 12:00 pm. (Special Note: 7:00 to 9:00 am, 18:00 to 20:00 is the peak hours.)

Lo Wu Port should be the most convenient land boundary control point in Hong Kong, because it connects to the Shenzhen Metro at one end and to Hong Kong KCR Lo Wu Station at the other end, so it is the most efficient channel from Shenzhen to Hong Kong. Visitors can take the Shenzhen Metro Line No. 1 to reach its final destination at the Lo Wu Station, and then walk north along the sign “To Hong Kong” after exit the station. Visitors get to Plaza Building through the Lo Wu Control Point, then get on the second floor which is the departure hall for the mainland residents. (According to simplify immigration procedures, visitors with Hong Kong and Macau Pass Card can get through without filling form of tourists.)
