How to Enter Hong Kong’s Lok Ma Chau Control Point through Land Route?

To enter into Hong Kong, visitors can take the land, sea and air routes to visit Hong Kong. There are 11 control points available for visitors. Hong Kong Immigration Department pledges: the majority of visitors can get Immigration formalities done within 30 minutes (for air travelers is 15 minutes), but in the peak time of entry, passengers have to wait for longer time to cross. Hong Kong is adjacent to Shenzhen, therefore it’s bound to pass through Shenzhen to Hong Kong from the land. There are 7 control points in the land route.

Lok Ma Chau is Hong Kong’s busiest land boundary control point, whose correspond control point to the Shenzhen side is Huanggang control point. Because the bilateral immigration halls are small and counter space is limited, so it takes longer time to cross the Customs. And it may take longer during the tourist season, holidays and weekends. The port is open 24 hours for customs clearance, so no matter what time it is, visitors can pass through Lok Ma Chau to the main areas in Hong Kong. (Special Note: 7:00 to 10:00 am. and 16:00 to 20:00 is the peak hours.)
