The Window of the World in Shenzhen —a day travelling all over the world
“The Window of the World” in Shenzhen is a large-scaled theme park including the world wonders, historical relics, natural scenery and folk customs all in one. Combining the experience of the establishment of Splendid China and Chinese Ethnic Culture Village, the Window of the World unifies the miniature landscapes and rich interactive activities with visitors together, which shows not only the landscape of the world’s five continents, but also modern science and technology, as well as entertainment district, World Sculpture Park, and an international food court, etc. In addition, an artistic feast show is also held in the evening, performing the development of world’s history and having ethnic dance.
It takes an hour from Guangzhou East Railway Station to Shenzhen. Exiting from the Lo Wu train station, passengers may take subway and go straight to the Terminal “the Window of the World”.
At the gate, you can get a travel map first, and have a visit along the tour route. There is an “officer” at China Mun to sign the visitors’ visa, that is, a copy of “the Window of the World” Passport, which you can spend 20 yuan to buy, then you can stamp the seals of 43 countries, which should be of great memorable meaning.
The first stop is the Asian region, where we start to visit the Thai Royal Palace, South Korea, the palaces of North Korea and Japan. Miniature landscape as they are, you can imagine how big the real ones are. It seems boring of the entire Asia-Pacific route, which is just replicas people can see on all the pictures.
The European stop starts an interesting tour, where you can view Eiffel Tower, Venice, Pisa Leaning Tower, the Acropolis, Notre Dame, London Iron Bridge, the Russian Winter Palace, the Dutch windmill, the Colosseum, and Roman Holiday Square. Eiffel Tower is the core symbol of “the Window of the World”. No matter what position you are in the park, you will see the tower. Although it was built according to the ratio of 1:3, it actually reached 108 meters tall, weighing 1,000 tons. If you want to climbe the tower top, you can purchase a ticket (20 dollars). From the top of the tower you can get a view of the central area of Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
In the Africa region, pyramids and the Sphinx stand in the desert, helplessness and desolated. Exploration activities are under the pyramid there, where there are a number of murals and a wooden coffin, but nothing to fear.
In the Americas region, the miniature view of Venezuela flash floods and volcanic eruptions in Hawaii is magnificent, and the famous Niagara Falls drops massive and beautiful waterfalls with rainbowl appearing now and then. How shocking the “cottage Edition” is.
In the Modern Technology and Entertainment district, a large indoor Alpine ski is of great fun. There are also the Grand Canyon rafting adventure, Amazon jungle adventure and Fuji vivid surround digital cinema, which allow visitors to feel delight brought by the high-tech.
The large-scale musical “The Creation” staged in Global Stage draws thousands of visitors everyday. The six gates around the theater symbolizing the six birthplaces of civilization in the world. The show includes a total of five acts: “Ancient China” and “Ancient Egypt”, “Babylon”, “Ancient India”, and “Ancient Greece”, in order to reproduce a panoramic description of magnificence of the world’s history. Starting from the railway station: take Tour Bus Line 1 (fare 2 yuan), Bus 101 (2 yuan fare).
From the Airport: take Bus 327 directly to the Window of the World
Other pass-by buses: 21, 26, 105, 113, 201, 204, 209, 210, 222, 223, 230, 232, 233, 234, 301, 310-315, or 311.
Shenzhen Metro : Take Line 1 to get off at “the Window of the World” station, then get out of the station from “I Exit” or “J Exit”.

Shenzhen Window of the World Tickets:
Full fare ticket: 120 yuan / person
Half fare ticket: only for children of 1.1-1.4 m in height, and senior people at an age of 65-69 years old, and third-class disabled veterans.
Free ticket: for children under 1.1 meters tall; senior people over 70 years old, and second-class or above disabled veterans.
