Review on 2009: A Leap in Internationalization
In 2009, French Grand Pavois Association (GPO) joined YUBO Group to co-organize the 3rd Shenzhen Boat Show. As the organizer of the top European boat show —— Grand Pavois International In-Water Boat Show, GPO’s expertise helped the Shenzhen exhibition grow much more internationally where overseas brands covers more than half of the exhibitors. As the highlight, the French delegation who showed up collectively drew the best cheers.
It was in last year that the Shenzhen exhibition became definitely the No.1 on-water boat show in China, with the number of exhibitors rapidly grew up to an approximate-200 scale from 83 in 2008 and 51 in 2007. Among them, the yachts displayed on water reached up to 82, the biggest ever in all China’s boat shows.
About 1, 5000 visitors came to the show last year, 1,500 from overseas, and 6,000 of them professionals or potential buyers. The show ended up with historic RMB 250 million on-site deals and approximate 500 million demos was signed.

Our Unique Advantages
1. Close to Hong Kong
Hong Kong, a metropolis separated from Shenzhen by a river, is no doubt a festival marketplace of boating. Its developed marine culture brings it yachts mooring all around and two international boat shows every year in just a small island. The wind of oceanic culture has blown through the Shenzhen River and had a great impact on mainland people’s lifestyle. Rich people in Shenzhen and Guangdong Province who emerged from this top economic district in China had been turning to yachts for leisure and business and Shenzhen’s long and beautiful coastline becomes their favorite to berth the boats.
Under this impact, Shenzhen held the first China Cup International Sailboat Regatta in 2007, since which a Hong Kong-to-Shenzhen Rally lit up the two cities and the whole country every year.
Besides the match, Shenzhen’s marinas also see many Hong Kong people driving their boats here as Hong Kong’s berths are in short supply. That is what’s happening in the marine field as part of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong unification trend. And thanks to the ships from Hong Kong, the Shenzhen Boat Show could display much more vessels on water than any other boat shows in mainland China.
2. Huge Market in Pearl River Delta
Shenzhen is the center of the-Pearl-River-Delta-Hong-Kong-and-Macao circle, which sits the most developed part in the map of the booming China economy. China is now the world’s No.2 luxury products consumer and is expected to jump on top in 2015. Of the country’s massive multimillionaires, Guangdong Province takes up a runner-up number of 140,000, who mainly come from the Pearl River Delta. That promotes Shenzhen’s boat industry great expectations with such a big market.
