Carbon Exchange called to be built in Shenzhen

The academic salon on “Green and Low-carbon”, sponsored by Shenzhen Municipal Social and Scientific Association and promoted by Shenzhen Municipal Green Industry Association was held in Shenzhen University yesterday afternoon, on which, the expert participated appealed that Shenzhen should join hands with Hong Kong to establish its own carbon exchange, since south china has not got even one carbon exchange in a sense of completeness.

The academic salon on “Green and Low-carbon” that focuses on the strategy of low carbon urban development, has invited about 50 experts and scholars who have their own opinions on the green low carbon to participate and the activity has been supported by Eco-environmental Institute of Shenzhen University, APEPA, CUI and Union of Handkerchiefer. Chairman of Shenzhen Green Industry Association, the main initiator of this activity, briefly introduced the era background of the need to focus both on “environment-friendly” and “low carbon” and at the same time provided two critical goals that are environment friendly the direction and low carbon the key. He thinks developing environment friendly and low carbon economy is a long term and complicated system project. As a leading city of low carbon, Shenzhen should join hands with housing department to establish the first low carbon ecological demonstration city.
